Laundry is definitely my least favorite chore but at the end of the day it has to be done. With each child the task has become more overwhelming and I feel like I’ve done everything possible to simplify our family laundry routine. Today I’m sharing why I switched from traditional laundry day to doing laundry everyday. Along with how the new Gain with Essential Oils helps us experience the scent of essential oils in every wear.
Anyone else make Saturday laundry day, then regret spending half the weekend folding clothes?
Laundry day is how my family did laundry growing up. By time I was in middle school, laundry for my entire family was my responsibility and I hated every second of it. We were a family of 6, so it was literally an all day event. When you’re a family of 2-3, a full laundry day might not be the worst thing but as our family grew I realized that it was extremely overwhelming for me. Now, I do our family laundry everyday.
If you’re overwhelmed with getting family laundry done, then making it a daily task is the way to go. For me it’s much easier to handle folding and hanging for 20 min a day vs being held hostage by the washing machine all day long. We have three kids who get dirty a lot throughout the day and most times Zoe changes clothes all day for no reason at all. On top of that both James and I work out daily, so that’s at least two changes of clothes for us daily. If I waited until the end of the week to do laundry, the piles would stand taller than me.
Here’s how I tackle doing our laundry everyday:
For our everyday and gym clothes I love Gain with Orange & Energetic Grapefruit. For our pajamas, sheets and blankets I love Gain with Lavender and Calm Chamomile. The scent is so dreamy that it makes relaxing at bedtime so much easier.
Each Gain variation is infused with their titled scent and gives your clothes a refreshing clean and an irresistible fragrance. They are designed to work in all types of washing machines and Gain’s irresistible liquid laundry detergent contains no dyes, phosphates, CFCs, or parabens, and it delivers a superb performance, even in a cold wash. Because it’s concentrated, just like essential oils, you only need a little, and the scent will go a long,
long way. Click to download a $1 OFF coupon and let Gain help you upgrade your laundry routine today!
How do you typically handle your family laundry routine? Laundry day or laundry everyday?
Love Gain’s original scents so I’m going to check out the essential oil blends! Thanks Tina 💖 Sparkle on Sis
Definitely check it out, the Lavender & Calm on our linens is a game changer!
I do laundry once or twice a week not a specific day love gain laundry products
I wish I could still just do one day a week; I have too many humans in my house! lol
It’s just me, so I’m sticking to doing laundry once a week.
Gain + essential oils sounds dreamy; I’m going to purchase some the next time I need laundry products.
Onece a week definitely works for just one person but let me know if you love the Gain once you try!
When I was working and going through more clothes I would do laundry every day (for one person). But I would wash in the afternoon/evening after work. So if it was a long day and I was already tired I wouldn’t make it to the folding stage (the worst stage! Lol).
But I’m going to try washing before work. Thanks!
And I love natural things and Gain so this has to be the best detergent discovery ever! 😉
Folding is absolutely the worst phase. I try to get it out of the way first thing in the morning because if I wait until bed time it’s all going in the chair next to my bed. LOL
My girls do their laundry once a week (they have separate baskets in their room and then combine when they take them downstairs to wash). My husband and I do laundry a couple of times a week as he works out as well. We also start with the sheets/towels. We have laundry racks to hang dry some things. I use to have laundry piled to fold, but now do it as soon as it comes out the dryer, makes life so much easier. I have found that I need to check on the girls when they fold their clothes because I’ve found unfolded clothes in their closet, under their beds and step stools smh. Thanks for sharing your tips.
Right now, laundry is just me and my boyfriend’s, so we do a laundry day (and add my vote to folding being the worst!) But when I was younger I did all the laundry for my family of 10 with a finicky washer that couldn’t do large loads. And lots of us did martial arts and gardening, two activities that generate a lot of laundry. I did about 4 loads of laundry every day. If I missed a day I was insanely behind and overwhelmed. Tina is 100% right here: if it’s more than 3 people, do a little bit of laundry every day.
Laundry day! Granted it’s just me and my husband and we each wash our own clothes (he had too many rules for T-shirts that needed to be hung to dry for me) so one day a week for each person works for us!
James and his tshirts stress me so bad. I shrink at least one a week!
For me its laundry day but I’m only washing for 2 people so like you mentioned it’s not that bad unless I get lazy and skip a week.
I love these guys but I miss the days where I could do it all in one day! lol
I usually pick a day during the week to do a few loads of clothes to cut down on having so much on the weekends (Saturdaze are for typically for laundry) for my family of 4. I wash the kids clothes separate from me and my hubs, and since we’re military I wash our uniforms separate from our clothes. I love Gain, they make our clothes smell AMAZING!! I use the Lavendar & calm, and I also like the orange & energetic grapefruit! Love the photo of Luke popping out of the basket 😍 Beautiful fam!

I used to hate spending my whole Saturday doing it but it’s not like we have anywhere to go right now! lol Thank you mama.
