I’m always looking for new ways to unwind with the kids after a long week. I also love finding new ways to accent the house, so I decided to stop in my local Dollar General this week to grab a few packs of OREO Cookies to help me do both.
I’ve been seeing the OREO Cookie jars floating around on social media for a while now and I finally decided to do one for my kitchen. At my house décor is décor and I want my jar to say full so I need OREO Cookies for the cookie jar and OREO Cookies that we can eat. Dear children, keep your hands out of my cookie jar! LOL
When I got to the snack aisle I saw that there was an in store promotion to buy any ONE (1) OREO Cookies (10 oz. or larger), get ONE (1) OREO Chocolate Candy Bar FREE from Mon 2/18 – Sun 3/17. Download the coupon here! An OREO Chocolate Candy Bar!? I definitely missed that memo on that, so of course I grabbed one of those too! We are a family of 5 and my kiddos eat snacks faster than I can blink, so I never pass up a good deal.
The amount of OREO Cookies you’ll need will vary depending on the size of your jar. For reference, you will need about a 1 pack per half gallon of the jar. Once you’re finished you can accent with a nice floral arrangement or other canister. Here’s a look at my finished product. How cute is this on my counter? It’s the perfect set up for cutesy pics for the National OREO Day on March 6th. Am I the only person who checks the calendar for holiday’s for their favorite foods?
I’m so proud of my jar, it’s perfect until the kids come home and want to grab all of the cookies. That’s where the extra pack comes in so they can be quickly diverted from destroying my newest masterpiece.
Milk’s favorite cookies happens to be our family favorite as well, it’s rare that we can all agree on a food of choice but OREO Cookies definitely does it for us. With that in mind I decided that we should have an OREO Cookie wind down to end the school week, talk about our day and have a movie night. It’s been a bit chilly this week so instead cookies and milk, I opted for OREO Cookies and hot chocolate. I couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy a nice treat with my favorite people.
What’s your favorite part of the OREO Cookies? Zoe girl loves the cookie and little James loves the cream but I personally discovered a new favorite in the OREO Chocolate Candy Bar. It’s nothing but creamy deliciousness and if you haven’t tried one, you should get one ASAP.
We had such a great time talking, laughing and smiling together. I really love hearing about all the fun they had at school. They’re growing up so that that I wish that I could bottle all of these sweet little moments up forever. What’s your favorite way to spend a night in with your kiddos?
