You ever see childhood videos of your favorite artist or athlete and see that they’ve been good at their “thing” their entire lives? That’s how we feel about Zoe girl and cooking. She’s no pro yet but it’s been her thing since before should could walk good. From making us yummy meals in her pretend play food truck to being our special helper in the kitchen, our girl loves to cook. We constantly joke that we are going to have to give her seed money to open her own restaurant one day.
Recently I discovered Raddish Kids cooking club and instantly knew that we had to give it a try. Each month has a unique theme and you get a kit with three recipes, a full shopping list, table conversation starters, cooking utensils and collectible badges for their aprons. (The apron comes with the very first kit).
The theme for August is Argentine cuisine. The recipe cards are super easy to follow and have great picture instructions for little ones who aren’t reading just yet. When we looked at the recipe cards, Zoe wanted to skip straight to the Dulce de Leche cookies, because cookies are always a good idea! I was personally impressed that the cookies came with a dairy free alternative recipe, so that she could still enjoy them despite having a dairy allergy. Making the coconut Dulce de Leche did require extra work on my part but it was worth it to give her the full experience.
I prepped most of the ingredients for her so that she could pour and mix everything herself. Except for the egg, she wanted to crack it herself.
She was most excited about getting to use our hand mixer and rolling the dough into little balls.

Look at how focused she is adding the finishing touches of Dulce de Leche onto the cookies.
She was so proud of herself and how her cookies came out. We had the boys come and try some when they were finished and they loved them.
We even grabbed our globe so she can see where it is in the world; she ended up asking James if we could go there on our next family vacation.
If you are raising a tiny chef or just looking for new ways to spend time with your kiddos you should give Raddish a try. Using my code, SPARKLES, you can save $15 off a 6 month subscription. Kids will show us what they are interested in, it’s up to us to help turn those curiosities into passions. I can’t wait to see what we get to cook up next and all the sweet memories we get to make along the way.
Our second box arrived about a week ago and Zoe could not wait to see what was inside and start cooking. We are enjoying our extra family time so much. This month’s theme is “Game Day Gourmet’ and it comes with the perfect recipes for Game Day snacks. Remember to use my promo code SPARKLES for $15 off a 6-month membership! It will make the perfect gift for your little chef in training
To give you an Idea of what comes with each kit, here’s a recap of our September box:
● A new utensil; that you will need for the recipe: This month we got a pastry brush for the
ballpark pretzels.
● Table talk cards: This month’s kit also came with Kitchen Game ideas to play.
● Recipe cards with photos for the little ones who aren’t reading just yet (main course, side dish & dessert): The Ballpark Pretzels, Game Day Chili, and Sporty Cookie Cake were all super yummy!
● Shopping list: Super easy to stick in your purse when heading to the grocery store.
● Educational material, including culinary skills. The guide to fold different pretzel shapes really came handy.
● A skills patch to iron onto your apron from the first box.
We couldn’t decide on a pretzel shape so we made both traditional and twisted.
I can’t enough about how our Raddish Kids Cooking Club subscription has made family time for us even more enjoyable. The way to Zoe girls heart has always been through her little tummy and I’m so grateful for the sweet memories we’ve been able to make in kitchen.
