Can you believe its February already? Yes, we blinked and January is gone! That means Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Looking at my calendar reminded me that I have to go shopping to pick up a Valentine’s Day gift for big James. I hate to break it to you honey but your man should be getting a gift, from you, on Valentine’s Day. Let’s be clear that t-shirts, socks, boxers do not count as gifts. Did you roll your eyes? You’re the socks and underwear kinda girl, huh? Sisssss, let me help you save yourself and your relationship with a gift ideas that “bae” would love.
Electronics: TV’s and Laptops and Headphones. Oh my! Most men, especially mine, are obsessed with electronics. It’s likely the equivalent of how we feel about handbags! LOL Try getting him some Bose Quiet Comfort over the ear head phones or Apple Air Pods (because no one wants to buy these for themselves). If you don’t think any of those will do just get a gift card to Best Buy; he’ll be like a kid in a candy store!
Team Swag: Does he yell at the TV during sporting events? If the answer is yes, then he’s a fan fan sis! So basically any team gear will do. Hat, hoodie, replica jersey, track suit… you name it. In fact, this may be the only situation where socks are acceptable.
Shoes: Now that I’m typing this …nope, don’t do it, reconsider! LOL Kidding! Shoes are always a good idea, especially if he’s a self-proclaimed “sneaker head”. You can use the Nike and Foot Locker apps to check the launch calendar to get caught up on the new releases. I know for most a nice pair of retro Jordans or Airmax will do the trick. If he’s more into grown man casual than athletic wear check out Taft for a nice pair of boots!
Watches: There’s a time and place for everything. Smart watches are great for the gym and everyday wear but I’d cringe if James wore his apple Watch with a suit. If your guy has made fitness goals for the year help him stay accountable (and keep him from being able to say he didn’t see your text because he was at the gym ?) with a new Apple Watch. If he already has a smart watch that he wears with everything, then help him step his game up with a nice timepiece. I’m a Movado fan myself but there are so many nice options at any budget from Fossil to Hublot.
Cologne: Raise your hand if you love a good smelling man? Yes please! James’s favorite cologne is literally our favorite cologne. He’s been wearing Creed for about five years now and I have no interest in him trying anything new. If you what your boo already wears, then look through his cologne stash and see if he’s running low on his favorite or pick up a new scent that you love for him to try.
Food: Let’s be real, all men love to eat but if you play this one right it could be a gift for yourself disguised as a gift for him. Instead of going to an overcrowded restaurant try booking a couples cooking class. That way you still have an intimate environment, you don’t have to dirty any of your own dishes and he can learn a new recipe to help with cooking every now and then.
After all that are you still concerned with your budget being tight or you don’t think those ideas will suit your guy? Well, you could opt for something sentimental like a custom card from Shutterstock. They will never admit it but they love sentimental items too. Or just put in on him! On himmmmmm? *Soulja Boy voice* Yes, girl! Celebrate love day with some good ol lovin’… and if you do it right he’ll likely forget about a gift! ?
Have you already made Valentine’s Day plans for bae? If not, stop being selfish and get to planning. Let me know if any of my gift ideas help.
